今回の授業で最後にあつかった、progress reportの表示・編集方法は以下のとおりに行うことで可能です。

１．トウメイ先生から送られてきたG-mailの内容に沿って、以下のところまで行います。（ここまでしている人は「２．」へ）
After you open this in Google docs, click on Publish. After you do that, click on 'Automatically republish when any changes are made'. Then, go down to Publishing options and click there. You should get a new window. Make the first menu "HTML to embed in a webpage" and the second should be "All sheets" After that, click on 'Generate URL". Now, you will copy that and insert it into your blog 'footer', which you get when you click on 'customize' on your blog. Go to the bottom of your layout page, click on add a page element, and use the HTML/Javascript button. Please title it 'Progress report'.

I had Writing class at 1st piriod today. In the class, I had a job to help students about how to use their computers. In short, I am an assistant of this class. I was a little nervous because this time was the first time for me and I had never experienced such a job before. However, the things to do were very similar to what I learnt last year, so I could teach the next task easily than I had expected.
Although I do not have much confidence enough to satisfy myself, I'll do my best from now.

Today, I have a recording at Tomei's room. I have waiting the day for about a week. This is my last work to do in this autumn semester.
When I researched the topics on Web sites, I got much information that I had not understood since that time. Of course I am Japanese and live in Kumamoto, however, I did not know about Kumamoto well. Thanks to the research, I could feel Kumamoto's heart and envionment more. I think that it is important to understand other countries' cultures, but I have to know my hometown's cultures at first. Understaing my home cultures is the start of understaing other cultures, I think.

I have finished all examinations in Fall semester

I've finished all examinations. I fought 8 tests by the end of January.
I do not have any idea about the result, but I wish I took good scores.
I took 15 classes in this semester and the maximum point of the total is 45(3 points per a class). I must take at least 42 points to get a scholarship. When April comes, I will understand my all grades. It is a big goal in my whole campus life. I cannot retake these, so what I should do is to wait until the day when I know the result and improve my English skill more. I have a TOEIC test this Thursday, so I want to do my best on it.

About Skype

I write about a technology of Internet. It is 'Skype'. I think that it is a kind of telephone system which used Internet. My friend told me that and I bought headphones with a mike, but I have never used it to talk to him. I made a call to the test station in England where I can listen to what I said as a test. I found that it was useful because it did not cost any money except electric bill, but it is unuseful because there is no guarantee of talking to the person at any time.
However, I was surprised the member of Skype. The system is used by all over the world, so many foreigners also use it. User can use the search system to find a tele-pal on the Skype, but I think it is not safe but a little dangerous.

Amazing Technologies

PC and Internet environment get better and better soon these days.
Now, new technologies are coming.
For example, this animation will show you a new kind of TV game. The producer will be a pioneer on this field.
Next animation is about sound system called 'Holophonics'. Before listening to it, I recommend you headphones. You will listen to the sound from all angles. I was really surprised when I had listened to it. My video bar on my top page is also about that. You can also access the pages through these.
Moreover, I want to show you this animation. At first, it shows you a cute character called 'Hatsune Miku', which is a software and a Vocaloid. Vocaloid is, in short, a kind of vocal and the voices are made from a voice actor. User can use this in their original music to attach a vocal as you like. This animation is my favorite one. There are lots of music with this system on the Internet.

From now, other amazing system and things come up on our life. However, I want to write this to you. DO USE THEM, DON'T BE USED BY THEM!

A problem-solving game

My father bought a problem-solving game. My father is interested in such a brain game. The title is "Professor Layton and the Demon box". The game is the second part game. I played the game and I thought that some question was hard for me and I sometimes took mistakes. There are over 150 questions and they are so profound. Moreover, other interesting thing is voice actors, for example Yo Oizumi, Maki Horikita, and so on. We can get more new questions with Wi-Fi connection every week. If we cannot understand the answer of the question, it may be a good way to visit a web site like this. Many players will help us with hints.

Such game will be popular among elder people and young people.

Coming of Age ceremony

Yesterday, I joined Coming of Age ceremony held at Ukara-Kan which was one of the famous hot spring facility. I was very surprised that I could not understand almost all adult women.
They got dressed up beautifully, so I could not identify who she was even if she was one of my classmate in my childhood. There were some junior high school teacher and I went there to say hello. After that, I went to a simple tea ceremony near the building with my friends.
Unfortunatelly, I had things to do that day, so I said good-bye to them and went to Yamaga and Nagashu to meet my relations. They were so pleased to meet me and I was also happy.

Book review 2-13

I read ‘Dragon heart’. This novel is Science Fiction and adventure.
In 10 century in England, young prince Einon was dying, but the Great Dragon helped him by half of his heart. Thanks to that, He became the king after his father, but he got cruel than his father. Everybody in the country was afraid of him. Then, Bowen who is a director of Einon thought that the problem brought by his heart which was the half of the Great Dragon’s. Therefore, he decided to hunt him. After the hard battle, Bowen and the Dragon faced the final battle. Finally, the dragon was dead and he became a new star in the sky.
I think that the main interesting scene is the relationship between the Dragon and Bowen. At first, they are enemy each other, however, the relationship got friendly and friendly in the end of this story. The process of the change was interesting for me.

What did you do in the time of the countdown for 2008?

I watched TV in the living room over using computer. Thanks to the setting of ADSL, I can use the Internet very fast. After 2008 coming, I went to bed because I was very sleepy. It might be a waste, but I did not have anything special during the time. However, I sent many e-mails to my friends. I was very tired and was surprised to find my cell phone full by e-mails from them, but I felt very happy. May you have a happy new year!

MR6 Lilo & Stitch

I watched “Lilo & Stitch”, which is one of animation movies of Disney. I had not watched Disney movies for a long time, so I was a little bit nervous.

Stitch is a prototype made by Jumba Jookiba. The character is very wild like a monster. He has a strong power enough to destroy everything and it is his instinct. Moreover, he can reflect bullets, count faster than computers, and see things in the darkness. However, Union army is going to kill him because he is very dangerous for them. He escapes from there to use a small spaceship and he gets to the Earth. He is very injured by Union army, he falls over and Earth people save him.

Around that time, Lilo is living as she likes. She is mischievous and her classmates don’t like her. She has a sister, Nani, and Nani is unable to control her. One day, Lilo insists on her request that she want to have a pet like a dog. Therefore, they go to a pet shop and Lilo finds Stitch there. She likes him very much, but he doesn’t like her. She buys him gladly, but she gets upset because he behaves at will. As the time passes, they get friendly, but he is caught by Union armies. Lilo gets involved in his problem, but finally, the boss allows him to stay with Lilo. After that, he and she are good friends.

Finishing watching this movie, I thought it is interesting, but is also predicable. I could predict the whole story and it is correct. I don’t think it is boring, but I expected surprising things like a sudden reversal. Lilo and Stitch are afraid of loneliness. I was moved some lines that Stitch said “I’m lost” over reading “An ugly duckling” and “My family, I found it by myself” (I don’t remember the real lines). Finally, I have a doubt. It is that some people say Stitch is pretty cute. I don’t think so. There is no accounting for tastes.

Japanese cultures

Japan

has lots of cultures. Many people without distinction love almost all of them.

One of the most famous cultural places is Kyoto. Kyoto has Japanese traditional cultures and historic architectures like Kinkaku temple, Kiyomizu temple, and so on. Many sightseers go through these cultures and are enslaved by their attractions. Some of them have much knowledge about Japanese ancient culture than that of Japanese. So much, Kyoto has great attractions for everyone.

Other popular culture is Japanese animations and cartoons. Pokemon and Ziburi series, Mononoke-hime and Tonarino-Totoro, for example, are loved by most of the people irrespective of age. Dragon Ball also is very popular around boys in U.S.A. and Australia and many other counties. Many Japanese animations are televised in Europe, America, and Australia.

At last, Japanese foods are popular in many counties as a health food. They are introduced in a health TV program. But some of them have peculiar taste, so foreigners can’t eat them. Natto and Aojiru are the typical examples. In contrast to them, sushi is the common food in Europe and U.S.A. In France and America, the shapes and taste of sushi are different from the Japanese. I have ever heard that a chef at a restaurant put chocolate source on it. That’s amazing!

Japanese cultures are very popular and changed those shapes or contains by many people’s hands or devices. Japanese cultures have been existed as the international ones all over the world.

Book review 2-12

I read, “Forrest Gump” made by Winston Groom. This is a warm and funny story about a good-hearted young man from Alabama, Forrest Gump.

He’s an unusual man, however,　he is very tall and good footballer and has a special power to play the harmonica without teaching from anyone. After college, he becomes a soldier and goes to Vietnam, where he meets two people, Benjamin and Bubba. He is active in the war, but he loses Bubba. After that, he meets the President of America, he goes into space and his best friend, Sue, is an ape. Sue did some funny actions in the story.

I think it is a little boring because it is different from that of movie. The existence of Sue and Forrest’s activities on Chess and Arm-wresting are not showed in the movie. I think these are an original story of this book. I recommend this book to read another story of Forrest Gump even if you like the movie’s scenario.

Book review 2-11

I read this book, “The Room in the Tower and other ghost stories”. The stories are mysterious and horror.

The first story is about a woman in a black coat. The main character was a woman who had an elder sister. The sister married a man and they stayed in Dublin, but she got ill and wanted to visit her hometown. The younger sister was happy for her visiting. However, she was dead on her way to home. After that, she also went to Dublin and married a rich man. She had a wonderful time, but she met a strange woman in a room of her husband’s house. She was afraid of her and she decided to return her hometown. She got the real happy life with her father and mother.

The second story is about a lost man and a mysterious house. One day, Imray disappeared and one of his friends started to look for him. He could not find him and he got a room of Strickland’s house. It was a good place, but there were some strange things. He saw a face through one of the windows from the garden and he saw a brown snake in the corner of the ceiling. The man and his guest attacked the snake and broke the ceiling. Suddenly, a thing fell down to the floor and it was Imray. He was killed by someone. The murderer, Bahadur Khan who is a servant of Strickland, admitted that he killed him. The mysterious story ended.

The third story is about a room in a tower. There was a dangerous woman in a picture in a room in a tower. A young woman married an older man and arrived at his house. But his dead wife was still there. A dead man walked through a house every night because he wanted the people there to catch his killer. Sometimes the dead returned…

I am too tired to write.

After reading this, I thought that it was not so scaring. The reason is that I am an adult and the stories are for children rather than for adult. I will read more horror one someday.

Yellow jackets

A few weeks ago, I heard a terrible story from my mother. The story was about a nest of wasps in an entrance of a forest.

One day, my mother and my little brother went to the entrance to clean my family grave. On their way to home, downing a gradient, he found some wasp flying about a tree. He noticed them and they followed him. He escaped from them in a hurry and went home as soon as he could. My mother was also safe. The big problem spread to neighbors. Finally, they decided to call a wasp buster. The staff worked well. The battle between him and wasps took about two hours and he could get rid of almost all them from there. He put honey with poison around the nest and there was no wasp after that.

Wasps are very dangerous. Their one or two attacks bring an enemy the death. Please be careful!

My new cell phone

I bought my new cell phone 2 days ago. The reason was that my old one did not work well because of the accident of the battery and electronic circuits. It often turned off the power suddenly, so I was in trouble. Then, I decided to buy a new one. The cell phone is wider and thinner than the old, but I have not got used to it. The buttons are a little bit different from the old, so it is a little difficult to control it easily. The model is W53S and I bought it for free by using discount points. Then, I have a big goal, which is keeping the new cell phone well at least for 2 years because I took a safety service. If I want to gain a profit, I must use the micro phone for 2 to 5 years without any troubles. The goal is very hard, however, I am sure that I can do it.

I will get a seal for decorating my cell phone on this Wednesday. I am looking forward to getting it.

Book review 2-10

I read “Alice’s adventures in wonderland” written by Lewis Carroll in last Sunday.

Alice was lying under a tree with her sister and she saw a rabbit wearing clothes. She followed him and she arrived at a strange house. There were many kinds of strange things. They brought various magical phenomenons and made her big and small. She also visited intriguing worlds and met a baby who was able to change himself a pig, a griming cat who was able to vanish, a person who was enjoying his tea ceremony endlessly, and a pack of cards. Finally, she found herself lying under the tree. Was it a magical dream or real things? She was under the tree and talked with her sister.

I had never read this story since then, so I could read this with fun. Every character was individual, so it became my memorable story. I wondered why the queen of cards was so selfish. Perhaps, all characters have fit minds. The stories are very creative and you may be confused by the story, but you will get used to it soon.

A Year-end party in Yamaga

I went to Yamaga with my family and my father’s friends as a year-end party. We visited an Izakaya, Sanroku. It was located outside of a town. Mountains and forests surround the house and some cell phone sometimes doesn’t work well. I have been there once and there is famous for Jidori, chicken meat. The menu is many kinds of meats of chicken. The food of third picture is Sunazuri, sashimi of chicken lever. The texture was a little hard, but it tasted good. The blocks of chicken were not cut small, so we had to cut them with scissors. They were so tough like rubbers and it took a little bit long time to burn them. We had a good time at the party.

MR5 School of Rock

I watched “School of Rock” made by Richard Linklater in 2003. This movie is comedy and the main character is Jack Black (as Dewey Finn).

He loves rock very much and has a passion to rock. However, He was fired from a bind and he spent dull time whole a day, but he heard news that a private school needed a teacher in stead of the former. He wanted a job, so he agreed the request. The school was very a famous school and the principle was very strict to keep the school well. He became a homeroom teacher, but he suffered from the atmosphere of the class. One day, he saw that the students playing their instruments well in a music room. He was moved the scene and asked them to play rock music. At first, they didn’t like rock, what is worse, some student were not interested in rock. Then he decided to force them to like rock and make a rock band with them. Their hearts got wilder and wilder. Everyone was in the rock world. The project went well, but it ended up wasted by a notifier. He gave up his goal and returned to the fallen life again, but pupils came to his house to wake him up and join a rock music competition. Although their team didn’t get the first prize, but the team got very popular and the schoolmaster got happy so much. After that, he enjoyed his life with teaching and playing rock.

After watching this movie, I was surprised the content because it was very unusual and very creative. The funniest scene was the ending. Dewey said a farewell lines with singing a song and the lines were for viewers. A comedy movie made this funny thing come true. I also like the character of Dewey. It is a great thing that a human has a big dream like him. The goal makes him/her hard. Although his actions were eccentric, they were the amusing points. I felt lucky to watch this movie.

People have known music since ancient time. Moreover, it is a way to communicate with them. Now, there are many types of music, and music has become entertainment all over the world. Moreover, the tastes of people for music have become diversified.

So, let’s talk about several types of music.

The first type is Hip-hop. Hip-hop is very popular among young people in Japan. Hip-hop consists of four parts. It is Rap, DJ, Break dance, and graffiti. American and Japanese use the words “B-Boy, B-Girl”, but the meanings are different. In Japan, “B” means “Black” and “B-Boy and Girl” mean the people who wear Hip-hop fashion. It is only Japan that such an idea! In America, “B” has two meanings. One means “Breakin’ or Break’n”. Both words mean “Break dance”. The other means “Bronx”. Bronx is the birthplace of Hip-hop.

Second type is Rock. Rock has the long history and been changing the music style. Now, there are over 45 styles. Therefore, many people have loved rock for a long time.

The main feature is the sounds of the guitar, bass, and voice. It is the force that it is necessary to make people a captive for a rock singer.

Third style is Pops. Pops is the music has soft melodies and a jaunty rhythm. In Japan, the people define it “the foreign music”. The Pops music that Japanese is playing is called J-Pop.

These three types of music are the trends and the main genres today. Moreover, they will still be the popular music in the future, I think.

I read this book “Apollo 13”. I have ever heard the name, but I do not know in detail. Then, I decided to read this.

Apollo 13 was flying to the Moon on Monday, April 13, 1970. The pilots were Jim, Jack, and Fred. Jim had a child, Jeffrey and he promised Jeffrey to take a Moon stone home as a souvenir. After the space shuttle lifted off for the Moon, some problem occurred. The biggest thing is the decreasing of power and air of the shuttle. One of the oxygen bottles broke and it brought the impossibility to go to the Moon. However, thanks to the directions from Houston, they could get back to the earth. Although Jim could not get a Moon stone, he and other astronauts could take their lives home.

It was interesting story. It was also a historic event, so it is worth reading well. I recommend it.

Today, I talk about popular snacks loved by many people in Japan.
It’s ‘Umai-bou’ (A delicious stick). There are many kinds of tastes sold at many stores.
So, I introduce some tastes and make a few comments on each.

This taste is so simple that everyone can eat it easily. Moreover, it leaves a little sweet taste in your mouth, so you may be able to eat others one after another.

At first, you may feel the taste of sauce for a second, a weak acid taste comes next to that, and sweetness comes at last. This product includes some little green laver, so do not forget to clean your mouse.

Although the name is Gyuutan-shio, I think that the flavor and tastes are similar to a salted fried Chiese noodle. However, I love this taste very much.

I read this book “KIDNAPPER” written by Robert Louis Stevenson. This story is David’s adventure and starts from a meet to his uncle. He is very strange and David feels uncomfortable against his behavior. One day, they go to a town and there David is kidnapped by a stranger, taken to sea and meets many dangers. He makes friends with Ransome in the ship, but he is in danger himself and is killed by Mr. Shuan who is one of the ship’s leaders. A few days later, a guest comes to the ship and his name is Mr. Stewart. David hears that some seamen plot to kill him, then he tells him that, and he decides to fight them with David. They manage to beat enemies, but a great wave hits the ship, and David wakes up to find that he is on a beach of an island. He is alone, but gets some important information. He decides to go to other town, where he meets a strange man and Alan Breck. Some people call him a murderer, but David thinks that he is a fine man and an honest Highlander. After that, he starts his travel with Alan.
I think the beginning is a little interesting and unexpected. However, as you read it, the story gets deeper and deeper. This is popular among English literatures. The writer is also popular, so please read his works like this.

MR4 Mrs. Doubtfire

I watched “Mrs. Doubtfire” produced by Chris Columbus in 1993. This is an interesting and heartwarming story. The main casts are Robin Williams as Daniel Hillard, Sally Field as Miranda Hillard, Pierce Brosnan as Stu, Harvey Fierstein as Frank, and Polly Holiday as Gloria and so on.
Daniel Hillard has his wife, Miranda, and 3 children. He loves them very much and has many kinds of voices as his skill. However, he does not like talk a serious story and Miranda is always busy attending to her works. One day, He held a birthday party for Chris who is his son with many people and animals. Then she comes home, gets angry very much, and divorces him. She gets the right to raise children and Daniel must find a job and make an environment enough to live with them comfortably. What is worse, he does not meet them except on only every Saturday. He begins to work for a TV station to carry files, but he hears from Miranda about a job of her house keeper. He decides to take this job and he gets it easily by changing his voice, wearing the disguise of a lady and calling himself Mrs. Doubtfire. Miranda and children liked her and they had a good time with her. However, Stuart who is one of her old friends also gets along with her and her children. On the other hand, the president of the TV station likes Daniel’s performance and makes a promise with him to meet at a restaurant on Friday. He is happy because it is a big chance for him to get a great job, but when he is Mrs. Doubt Miranda invites her to her birthday party at the same place and on the same day. He tries to pretend he is Daniel and Mrs. Doubtfire, but everyone finds who he is after all. After that, he cannot meet them without a supervisor, but he starts a new TV program and it gets very popular. Moreover, his life as Mrs. Doubtfire is a great chance each other to review each good points and bad points. She gradually begins to think that the best person takes care of them is Daniel. She allows him to do. Smile comes back to their family again.
I think it is not only a funny but also moving movie. Daniel is a wonderful father because he always loves his whole family. Actually, his behaviors sometimes get somebody angry, but it is the best feature. The most interesting part is Daniel’s behaviors at the restaurant. I felt funny his actions and reactions of customers. I think we cannot do many actions at the same time. However, I was moved the last part. I recommend for you to see that scene and this movie itself. There are many kinds of family in the world. I recognized the fact and the importance through this movie.

Today, the lifestyle of food is changing rapidly. Moreover, this makes children’s thoughts for the food worse and worse. What is the problem?
The main problem is having too many likes and dislikes for children in what they eat. Then, I expect that two main reasons cause this problem.
First, one can say the appearance of the fast-food shop and convenience store is part of the problem.
Second, it is how parents raised their children. Today, the breeding of parents seems to be short. Some parents have too much work and cannot prepare dishes for their children. As people can purchase many foods cheaper and easily because of the convenience store and fast food store, they come to use them. For example, the children who go to a crammer or have more time to be alone at home often eat a box lunch of a convenience store. As a result of this, the various bad influences; what they eat become fixed; the balance of nourishment gets out of shape and they can get ill.
Cooking homemade dishes is very important. Therefore, the main solution is making the time to cook a dish for the children. If their parents can do so, the cooking guidebook gives them many ideas and knowledge for solving the problem; changing the food’s shape or taste, for example.
In the future, the lifestyle will become more useful, but we have to be careful about our health.

I read this book "The wind in the Willows" written by Kenneth Grahame.

This story is about four friends, Toad, Rat, Mole and Badger. They have their favorite things, for example, Rat loves the river, Mole is afraid of things, Badger likes to stay at home and Toad is always looking for exciting new adventures, but he is poor at helping someone.

One day, Mole and Rat go down the river with a boat and meet Toad. He is very rich and always interested in new thing. He is now interested in a caravan and has it. Then he invites them to go anywhere for a few day by the caravan. On their way, a car driver takes a horn and surprises a horse which is pulling their vehicle. The horse runs away and their caravan and their baggage break up. Rat gets angry, but Toad is not angry and he is interested in a car. They return to their home and Toad buys an expensive car in the next day. As you can see, Toad is rich and selfish.
On the other day, they make friends with Badger who is an inhabitant in the forest. Winter passed, and Toad buys his second car, but the police are angry at his wild driving. They take him inside his room and locked the door, but he tells a lie to Rat, he escaped him room and drives a car. However the police arrests him, but he runs away from the prison. He uses many things to get away anywhere and Rat finally catches him flowing the river.
He says the weasels are living in Toad Hall and it amazes Toad. They begin to consider how to throw them out and decide to break in there. They fight them and win. Toad recaptures his home and he writes invitations for his friends to hold a party. He is still selfish but he gives people who are made trouble by him things which he uses at that time and he is not interested in cars.

There are many kinds of people in the world and some people have friends like Toad. I think Toad is the main character of this story. He was still selfish from start to finish, but he learned something important from his adventures. My favorite lines is this spoken by Badger “I hate it too, but we’re his friends. We have to tell him these things.” It is a interesting book, so please read it once.

The spiciest war in 2007

The spiciest war in this year broke out today!
I bought a strange beverage the other day. I wanted to eat or drink something very spicy today because I had taken a mistake in that day.
I bought these fascinating products in Seven Eleven and Lawson today. The left product is 'Habanero, the super tyrant'. The package says the spiciness is twice as spicy as usual one.
The right product is 'Jolokia, the great devil'. The real name of jolokia is 'Bhut Jolokia' and it is the spiciest spice in the world now! It is also called 'a phantom spice' and it means that few people can understand how spicy it is. the spiciness is about twice as spicy as that of hebanero pepper.
At first, I ate the left. The taste is much spicier than that drink I had drunk the other day. When I finished eating almost all of them, I could not help stopping sweating.
Next, I ate the right. The taste is more terrible than that of the left. My sweat began to run from my body since I had finished eating a half of them. In the end, I ate the rest of them at a stroke. I won the battle, but my tongue did not work well for a little. It bites the tongue.
Finally, I give you an advice. Please prepare something to drink by you when you eat them. A dairy product like a yogurt is better. I'm sure it helps you from the terrible spiciness.

I read “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” written by Mark Twain in 1885. This work is very popular in not only America but also all the world. This work had a big problem that discriminative words used in the play. However, it got popular and popular as the time passed.
One of reasons of the popularity is the existence of Huckleberry Finn. He solves problems to tell a lie, to get information, steal things, and so on. The existence to do such these behaviors is children, so Huckleberry plays them well. In addition, Huck is very active and loves the freedom, so the escaping from his father is very impressive.

There are other reasons why this work is very popular in the world. Discrimination between White people and Black people, the system of slaves are still big problem now. This theme is too deep to solve easily, but it is the key to get itself popular. It will have been loved by many people in the future.

A strange beverage in Lawson

I found a new product in Lawson today. This is the picture. It is "Tyrant Habanero pepper's delicious soup". The price is 120 yen. The message says that it is compatible with sandwiches or rice balls. The illustration is cool, but I do not understand why the character gets angry. It shows the spiciness, I think.

I imagined the taste was like a tomato juice with Habanero pepper's essence. However, the image was broken up by the real taste. The taste was like waterish Pizza-man sauce. If you have eaten Pizza-man, you could imagine the taste. This beverage's taste is similar to it. What is worse, it was not spicy and other taste like the flavors of chicken and vegetable are a little stronger than the spiciness. It is not spicier than a couple of drops of jalapeno sauce.

What I want to say is not to buy it. Do not buy it, or you will regret!

MR3 Romeo and Juliet

The third movie review is ‘Romeo & Juliet’. It is made by William Shakespeare and the most popular tragic romance in the world. I have ever watched old one which is made in 1968, therefore I could understand the story. However, there is some differences between this and old one.
The story is very simple and very miserable. Montague and Capulet are in an adversarial relationship. Romeo of Montague and Juliet of Capulet fall in love each other in the first contact at a party. After that, they marry each other secretly, and a priest, Lawrence, expects that this marriage makes the relationship good.
However, a case breaks it up. Tybalt of Capulet kills Mercutio of Montagu. What is worse, in a fit of anger, Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo is banished from the country and Juliet parents force her to marry other bridegroom. Juliet consults with Lawrence and he suggests drinking a medicine which brings a suspended animation to her. She decides to do that, but Romeo found her dead later without any news about that. Romeo pulls his gun and shoots himself. Soon later, Juliet wakes up and discovers Romeo and she also died with his gun. After this tragedy, Montague and Capulet are reconciled in exchange of two lives.
The story is very sad, but the main thing is the love between Romeo and Juliet. The love is very heat like lava and strong like a metal chain. The deep eternal love is the main theme of this work. Actors are also important, but the core is the story. Frankly speaking, I am not interested in actors of this movie. Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio plays Romeo and Claire Danes plays Juliet. However, their performances, tools, cloths are different from old one. I think this work includes some director’s interest. Other amazing thing I noticed is the weapon that Romeo and Juliet used in the end. In the old movie, they used a knife and stab their chest, but they used a gun and shot themselves in the new one. I thought it was a symbol of the times. The new is much more modernistic than the old. Guns did not come out in the old time, but they spread in many countries now. The times’ feature was showed in the new movie.
After watching this movie, I was impressed by the story. People have ever heard at least the story, but it moves us every time.

I read ‘Stories from Shakespeare’.
I have written a post about a Shakespeare’s work, but I write about other his works.
The first story is ‘The Merchant of Venice’. This is one of his comedies. The beginning is that Bassanio asks Antonio to lend money to marry Portia. Antonio accepted his needs, but Antonio doesn’t pay back his debt to Shylock because of the lost of his possessions, and he sometimes is nearly killed by him. Bassanio worries about Antonio’s safe and Bassanio, Portia and other pals goes to Venice to help Antonio. Portia pretends she is a lawyer and say to Shylock an unreasonable demand. He gives up giving money from Antonio, what is worse, he must give Antonio a half of his entire fortune. Everything works out peacefully.
After reading this book, I thought this was funny, but the interesting point was that Portia helped Antonio. I was a little disappointed because I had thought there are more interesting points in this story.
The second story is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. I have written this story once. Good points of this story are the existence of a fairy, magic, and the play played by workmen. It is a funny work.
The third story is ‘Hamlet’. This is one of Shakespeare’s great tragedies. The theme of this story is the revenge by Hamlet on his uncle, the current king. The king plots to kill Hamlet with Laertes. The king uses a poison, but the queen dies by it. Hamlet battles with Laertes, but Lartes is dead and Hamlet finds the fact from him. He kills the king, but he dies by the poison. This is very the tragedy.

After reading these stories, I re-realized the greatness of Shakespeare.

My memories of KGKS 4

Next is about the city of Leicester. This is “Clock tower”, and it is located at the center of the city. Therefore, people often use this as a meeting spot. Many big roads ran here, so we could walk around unless we forgot how to get there.
This water spout was near the city hall. People often had a break about it. As it was summer vacation, people visited there on weekday, not a holiday.

This building is “Leicester Cathedral”. People who are Christian visit there to pray. This is the inside. There was a celestial mood. I was fascinated by it. I took some stained-glass windows. They were so beautiful. One day, when I went across the cathedral, I found a car which was decorated beautifully. According to a person, a wedding ceremony was held on that day.

Ms. Tomoko who was the Japanese assistant told us a Chinese restaurant, and the picture is this, Ha-men. This was the best Chinese restaurant, I thought. However, there was a big problem. It is … this. Almost people have seen this character many times. In the restaurant, I found another one with color. But I forgot taking it. The hair color was black and eyes were red. It is a little different from Japan.

This is a big candy store. There were many kinds of candies, so one of my friends asked a clerk to recommend some candies.
Tomoko recommended this snack. It was very delicious and not expensive. I also recommend it!

My memories of KGKS 3

I write about my university in England in this time.
This is DeMontfort University. I went there for a month.
It was big University, and Kumagaku students studied in Clephan Building.
The first picture is the building. It is three-story and has a basement. The entrance door is automatic. It is very comfortable.
The second picture is the inside of the building, entrance hall. When everyone finished class, they gathered here and went for a lunch with their friends. Here is also used as one of gathering spots. People who had lunch gathered here and went sightseeing. Classrooms were simple. There were a couple of large desks and about 15 chairs. Each room was similar like this. We had 2 groups and each group had about 11 people. The class time was 2 hours, but we had a break about 10 minutes between classes.
The third picture is the cafeteria of DeMontfort University. It was smaller than that of Kumagaku, but a great number of students were there and here was like a carnival everyday. Madison’s system was different from Japan. When you order some dish, you have to say or point to the name of dish and tell shop clerk how you want to eat.

The last picture is a convenience store which is in Japan too, SPAR.

I read “Tales from the Arabian Nights”. I have heard the title when I was a high school student, but I did not know the story. Therefore I decided to read it.

This story starts from a king, Sultan. He hates women after his first divorce and he decides to marry a new woman and kill her when the first night ends. People are very afraid of him, and then a woman, Sheherezade, tries to stop his bad behavior to talk him thousands of stories. These stories are called “Tales from the Arabian Nights”. There are sad stories, funny stories, strange stories, exciting stories, and so on.

My favorite story is ‘Behind the door’. The main character is Salem. His father was very rich. When he died, he left his money and houses to him, but Salem lost the money quickly and he ended up selling his houses. He got poor, but an old man spoke to him, ‘Be my servant, and you will live in a better place.’ So he followed him and became his servant. He watched many old people living in his house. They looked unhappy, but he did not understand the reason. The men were dead one after another, and the old man also died. When he was dying, he told Salem not to open behind the door. However, he could not beat his curiosity, and after all he opened the door. Inside the door was dark and he went downstairs, and there he was caught by a big bird and he was taken away at a wonderful place. He met a beautiful woman there, got married to her and spent a wonderful time, but she said the same thing that the old men said to him. He opened the door again and went downstairs. Amazingly, he returned to the house which had stayed with old men. He tried to discover the way to return the wonderful world, but he failed.

I have heard a story which is the similar to this. It was “Tono story” which was written by Kunio Yanagida who was a great academian of folklore in Japan. The main character lost his way in a forest and he found a lodge. Inside of the lodge was very clean and there were many kinds of things, so he spent his time there. He could go out of the forest safely, but he wanted to go the lodge again. He tried to find again and again, however, he could not find it.

These stories are very similar. Therefore I could have a sense of closeness. I would like to read ‘Tono story’ someday.

MR2　'Kill Bill'

I watched ‘Kill Bill’. It is a violent and action movie. The executive producer is Quentin Tarantino.

The main character is a woman, the Bride. Assassins nearly killed her once, but she was saved. She was in bed in a hospital, and escaped from there. Afterward, she goes to Japan to meet Hanzou Hattori and let him make a Samurai sword. She practiced again and again, and then she goes to a Japanese bar, where she battled one of big enemies. The boss of the group is O-Ren Ishii. She is one of the members of a big brutal group. Furthermore, she was the very person who nearly killed the Bride long time ago. The Bride managed to kill her and seek other enemies.

I had never watched this movie since then, so I felt very nervous because one of my friends said it was very grotesque and aggressive.

The first impression of this was a revenge tragedy. The Bride and O-Ren Ishii had the desire of revenge. Ishii’s one was against people who killed her mother. The Bride’s was against the assassins who killed her baby and nearly killed her. When the Bride asked Hanzou to make a Samurai sword, her strong feeling of revenge affected his policy which never made swords to kill people. Ishii also went on killing the murders. They are mad. The vengeance makes people crazy, mad and aggressive. The movie shows such a human’s complex and ugly feelings.

The good point was Japanese people, Hanzou Hattori, Gogo Yubari, and so on. Their words were cool and interesting, especially, Mr. Hattori.

However, I think there are many bad things in this movie, but some people may think that these are good. The worst thing is bleeding descriptions and cruel actions, slashing neck, foots, and arms. When I watched the scene that the Bride slashed Sofie’s arm at the Japanese bar, I thought that she was like a crashed centipede. The place became the hall of a bloody party. These actions were violent and brutal, but sometimes I felt they were interesting. I think watching such a movie for a long time affects bad things to children’s feelings. I have heard cruel murder cases these days. I am a little worry about the appearance of such a movie, but some people like this kind of movies.

I did not have a good time so much. However, I sometimes feel like to watch such movies. If I have a chance to watch ‘Kill bill 2’, I want to do it.

My hobbies are too many to name. These are playing sports, reading books, watching TV and Movies, playing video games, and walking.
I often played soccer in my childhood. When I was an elementary school student, I always played many sports in a rest time. I played soccer and basket ball for 4 years. I read many books these days, especially, books for tasks now. However, I read light novels very much. A light novel is for every people and easy to read. I have over 80 novels now. I will read books more. I also like to play video games. I like RPG games, Puzzle games, and Music simulation games, but I do not have time enough to do them now. I am a little sad. Last hobby walking, is recent one. When I wait a bus for a long time, I am very boring. Then I start walking to the next bus stop. If there is much waiting time, I do it again. As I do so many times, I realized the fun of walking.

I bought a snack in TOYSЯUS a few weeks ago. This is 'SNYDER'S OF HANOVER'. The price is about 300 yen. The taste is Creamy Caramel. There are many other taste, Chedder Cheese, for example. I like them very much. The reason is the toughness. It is a little tough, but Caramel pawder covered on surfaces is very sweet. The balance is very good for me.

By the way, when I went to England, a Japanese teacher recommended a snack to me. It was 'Shortbread Fingers'. The shape was like 'Calorie Mate', but it was very delicious! I also recommend it. I bought some as a souvenir.

I read this book, “The Canterbury Tales” and it was written by Geoffrey Chaucer who was one of famous writers in 14C.
This story was based on a travel of people for Canterbury. People talked a story which they knew by way of killing time. It was “The Canterbury Tales”. There were various stories.
In this time I want to write about ‘the story of the knights’. One day, Arcite and Palamon are imprisoned by Theseus. Then they see a beautiful lady, Emily who is the sister of Hippolyta, and they fall in love with her. As the time passes, Arcite is allowed to go outside the prison, but if it comes true, Arcite can not see Emily any longer and Palamon is by her. Arcite thinks it is an unfortunate thing and Palamon thinks it is a happy thing.
The scene is my favorite one. The change of their feelings by the existence of Emily is funny and interesting. What is worse, the friendship between them gets worse and worse. Finally, they put a period to their love for her to fight each other. As a result, Arcite is dead and Palamon gets married with her. The love’s power sometimes makes a fellowship worse, confuses it, and puzzles a person. Of course the power itself is also good, but it is true that ‘Love is blind’.
There are many other stories in this book, so please read it or them if you can.

New video game

I bought a new video game. It is 'Guitar Freaks & Drum mania V3', which is a music simulation game. The instruments are the drums, the guitar, and the bass. I am good at playing the drums (but I cannot play a real drums), so I enjoyed playing it. Moreover, Many kinds of music picked up in this game, and I was glad to find my favorite songs. However, I do not have friends who also play it around me. I want to play the session mode. It can play the drums and the guitar at the same time. My friend who plays the guitar is in Fukuoka, so there is no time to play with him.

I read this book, “The Phantom of the Opera”, which is written by Jennifer Bassett.
I cannot explain this story simply because I think the phantom of the Opera is not a bad man. His purpose is to teach to a woman who has a beautiful looking and voice, improve her singing ability, and to know a woman’s love. However, because of his ugly face and the name, everyone regards him as a bad man.
On the other hand, the singer who is taught by him calls him “The Angel of music”. He becomes not only an enemy but also a good friend. It depends on the person.
How will the story change if everyone regards the phantom as good? I am sure that if everyone keeps his promise, the phantom gives a woman the beautiful voice and the Opera gets rich.
Why don’t you think your own idea about the story? You may flash some interesting story into your mind.

Movie Review 2-1

The first movie review is ‘Toy Story’. This movie is popular among people all over the world, and there are many kinds of goods sold in many toy shops. The main characters are Woody and BuzzLightyear. All toys are alive and work when people do not see them.

I will introduce some characters. Woody (Tom Hanks) is one of Andy’s favorite toys. He is active and has a good readership. BuzzLightyear (Tim Allen) is the comer. He does not think that he himself is not a toy but a Space Ranger. In addition, he is made from Taiwan. Slinky dog (JimVarney) is my favorite character because his body is so cute.

One day, Andy who was the owner of toys got a new toy. It was Buzz Lightyear, Space Ranger. He was the newest toy, so he had many functions which they had never seen. Andy also liked his quality and looks. Woody thought that he himself was the most favorite toy of Andy. However, as Andy was excited about Buzz, the things which is drawn Woody changed, and Buzz finally became his favorite toy. Of course, Woody’s feeling got worse and worse.

I can understand Woody’s anger and frustration. I think he is very proud because he has been the loved Andy’s toy for a long time. If someone suddenly comes and becomes his favorite, he may well get angry. However, it is natural for a child to change his/her taste. Andy is still a boy, so a new taste or interest comes into his mind. I think it may be a sharp tongue, but toys have their life called ‘A fashion’. If the time has finished, people would not pay attention to them any longer.

One of my favorite scenes was Buzz’s behavior in Hannah’s room. I burst into laughing at it. He realized what he was through the TV commercial. As a result, he became desperate. Although I felt sorry, his lines were interesting.

The other scene was that Woody rescued Buzz from Sid. I was impressed that Woody cooperated with Sid’s toys, considered the tactics, finally and persuaded Sid. I think the friendships among toys are wonderful and strong.

I think it is a good story because children could learn about the importance of taking care of toys. Sid who is a bad boy often tortures his sister’s toys. After all, Woody punishes him with them. It is an ordinary punishment, but it is enough to teach the work’s theme to children. I do not like Disney files much, but I like this. I want to watch ‘Toy Story 2’ someday.

My favorite singer

Yesterday, I found one of my favorite singer's web page. His name is Atsushi Shindou who is about 36 years old and active in a Radio program in Osaka. He used to be one of the member of 'Chameleon'. His voice is high and sweet. I like his songs, and I have lots of music files of him in my computer. The character are a crazy passion against a lover and life. I like his straight feelings very much.
His songs often used to appear in a video game, Pop'n music, and they are very very popular among people. However, his activity on the game was finished about 3 years ago. I was very sad and Almost people did not the reason why he retired the business.

My memories of KGKS 2

When I was in England in this summer, I visited many places. My favorite place was the Warwick castle. It was so big and beautiful that I took many pictures of the castle.

Saying to a castle, I imagined a big gate, knights in a heavy armor, a castle wall, many kinds of weapons, and so on! My heart was beating fast during the visiting and I was very excited because visiting a western castle was one of my dreams.

Of course, I went to the lookout and the view seen from the place was so beautiful. However, the spiral staircase was very steep. Be careful when you go up the stairs, or you may fall and injure.

In the castle, there were many exhibitions, typical peer’s lives at that time, knight riding a house, swords, armors, lances, warrior’s helmets, and so on. The road like a corridor was not so wide, so I could not walk in the castle freely.

At an open space, a catapult show and falconry show were hold. I learnt the greatnesses of the ancient weapon and culture.

I wrote about a castle of England this time, but there were many interesting things in England. I’ll write them in the near future.

I read this book, “The Prisoner of Zenda”. This purpose of this story is that Rudolf and Sept save the king of Ruritania. They must save him at once, otherwise he will be killed! However, there are strong enemies, Duke Michael and Rupert of Hentzau.
First thing I was impressed was the course of story. I thought it was very simple, but therefore it was very easy for me to read. My favorite story is Rudolf meets the Princess Flavia and falls in love her and pretends to be a king to get information about the safe of king. As the story pass, she also likes him, but they cannot marry each other because she is a princess and he is a fighter. However, his heart for her is still active. Who will win the heart of the beautiful Princess Flavia? The end is written in the end of the story. Please read it!
Second thing I was interested was the fights between the group of Rudolf and the group of Duke Michael. The engagements of Rudolf and Duke are very exciting. Will Rudolf put a period to this long fight? The end is secret.
I like to read such a story, so if you also like to read a book like this, please read it.

Autumn semester has started on last Thursday. I enjoyed my summer vacation in Japan, and I am making Mikoshi for 'The city parade' with my club friends, which is held on the next month.

In studying, I have a big goal which is to get grade A in almost classes of autumn semester. However, there are many big events in this semester, ‘The city parade’, ‘Sports Festival’, and ‘School Festival’. Because I may have to spend my precious time on preparing these, I am a little anxious whether I can finish this year safely, or not. There might be hard times, there might be hassles, but I am going to trying my best because I am sure there will also be happy times.

I thought I should have written this post when I had returned to Japan. (-_-;)

I had a wonderful time in England and could make many treasured memories. I will never forget them.
One of my favourite memories was my second visiting London with my friends. The purpose of it was to visit the Abey road and Sherlock Holmes Museum. I like Holmes very much, therefore I wanted to visit there. I took some pictures of the statue of Holmes and Abey road. There are many visitors on the road because it is one of the holy grounds for fans.

I had an exam in the evening, but I had other things to do.

First, I had to go to Higo bank to convert yen into pound. I arrived there at 8, but the bank open at 9. The spare time is a hour. I decided to go to Shimo-tori. However, almost all shops were closed. I didn't have any idea what I should do next. 50 minutes passed, as I was hungry so I went to a McDonald to have a breakfast.

I had a morning dish. As I had never eaten it since then, I was very happy. The picture is this. Amazingly, something sweet like syrup is used in the buns. Therefore, the hamburger smelled sweet. It was delicious. In addition, it was the first time for me to eat 'McFLURRY'. The price is 300 yen. Although it was a little expensive, the taste was very good.

After eating my breakfast, I went to Higo bank again, and converted yen into pound. Then, I went to Hikari-no-mori to watch a movie with my friend. The guests are only me and my friend. The room looked like a reserved room. We enjoyed watching the movie as if we had been rich men. It was a precious experience. I will never forget this happening.

I read this book "Love or Money?". I think it expresses the tenacity of purpose of human beings to money.
One day, Molly Clarkson and her husband hold a party and invite her relatives. However, they have designs on her money because she has lots money. Some of them hope her death. After that, Molly died in her bed. It's a murder case. A detective and inspector investigate people who were in the house last night. Who is the criminal person? I do not write the name on this post.
Human beings yield to temptation to get money and other advantage. In order to meet the aim, they plot many things. Human beings are wonderful creatures, but on the other hand, they are also very ugly. I think this story include human's mentality.

It has been damp weather these days. I do not like such weather.
One day after a damp day, I went to a yard. Then, I found a strange thing in front of me.
It looked like a mushroom, but it was so bitty and slim. I had never seen such a thing since then, so I took the picture. In spring, I usually see horsetails there. In a rainy season, I saw it. What do I see in fall and winter? I am a little lucky because I get chances to watch a seasonal plant or thing.
I thought it is a poison mushroom. Of course, I did not eat it.

These are my pets. They often visit my house and stay on a wall for a while because many bugs come there.
First creature is a tree frog. He/she often is on a wall of my house. He/she eats little bugs very fast. Although I want to watch the moment, but I often miss it.
Second is a gecko. He/she also eats little bugs in a moment. His/her tail is a little cute.
They are on a wall before I notice them. They don't often move quickly because they have to catch and eat their foods.
Last is a little dragonfly. I found him/her at a living room. He/she looks beautiful, I felt. He/she perhaps was lost. He/she dangle on a rope.

There are many forests near my house. Therefore, these wild animals come there. I like them because I can know the lives of them and I think that they are summer features.

I read this book, “The Canterville Ghost”. It is the story that An American family moves to a Ghost house in Britain. This is funny story. The author is Oscar Wilde. I do not know about him, but after reading this story, I am interesting in his works a little.

The funny points are that American family does not fear the ghost and the ghost generally loses his confidence as a ghost. I think that American people don’t fear ghost very much in my first impression.

I liked these sentences, "'Pinkerton's Famous Stain Cleaner will clean it up in a second." I first read this sentence, I somehow had laughed. I feel as if I had listened to a voice of a M.C. of a TV shopping. I think that my sensitivity is a little different than ordinary person.

However, I think it is a little funny and interesting story. I enjoyed myself reading it.

I read this book "KING ARTHUR".

Arthur was born to Merlin and Igraine. As Merlin had a supernatural power, Arthur also has a magical power by nature too. One day, Merlin took him to the King Uther, but the king was ill soon. When he was about to die, Merlin predicted that Arthur would be the next king. Actually, Arthur pulled the sword which stuck on a stone near a church. It was the testament of the King. So he became the new King.
He fought the Saxons, and made it the most important town in the country. Then, he got married to Guinevere.
One day, Arthur told Merlin that he broke his sword in a battle, then Merlin said to him to come together to find the best sword in the world. The sword was at the middle of a lake and he got it. The name of the sword was "Excalibur".

After that, many evil people planed to take the Excalibur away from the King Arthur. However, he kept his sword in his hands. Finally, he made the Knights of the Round Table in Camelot, and the great king Arthur was dead in a lake. When he was dying, he asked his knight, Bedivere, to throw Excalibur into the lake, and he told him that a miracle would happen. Then he died.

I knew the King Arthur and his sword, Excalibur. However, thank to the book, I got much information about him. ‘King Arthur and the knights of the Round table’ is very popular story. Please read the story if you have time.

Hip, hip, hurray! I got a new score in e-typing today. The score is 313 points, and the level is 'Tatujin'!! I had never got such a great score before, so I am very happy now.
However, idleness is the devil's workshop. I have to challenge to get a better score. Yesterday, I happened to see a woman who was typing very very fast in e-typing. She often got these scores, 'S', 'Good', and 'Tatujin'. Even the best man meets his match.
Therefore, I'll devote myself to advance my typing skill!!

Essay 6 -My favorite movie-

I’ll introduce about my favorite movie.

It’s “Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi”. It is called “Spirited Away” in English. It is an Academy Award winning 2001 film by the Japanese animation studio ‘Studio Ghibli’, written and directed by famed animator 'Hayao Miyazaki'.

At the film’s beginning, Chihiro, a ten-years-old girl, and her family are on its way to a new home in a new town. When her father gets lost taking a short cut, they discover a mysterious entryway through a tunnel. Going through, they find a strange, beautiful grassy landscape, which they assume to be an abandoned theme park. The parents find stall piled with food and start eating and soon lose control of their hunger. Then, her parents have turned into pigs.

This is my favorite scene because I think it has something to do with a scene of the Japanese myth. I am interested in it, especially, the story of 'Izanaginomikoto' and 'Izanaminomikoto'. They are said the creators of Japan in the story, and the scene of the film is similar to it.

First, the tunnel which Chihiro and her family go through is 'Yomotuhirasaka', I think. 'Yomotuhirasaka' is the entrance to the underworld, and actually, they go to the strange world. The tunnel is the gate of the different world!

Second is the scene that her parents eat foods putting on a stall. After eating, they have turned into pigs. The phenomenon is similar to Yomotuhegui. It is the phenomenon that person who eats foods which are in the under world cannot return to the present world. Chihiro’s parents cannot move and escape and finally, they are arrested by officers.

There are many scenes which are worth to watch in the movie. I enjoyed myself watching it over preparing the similar things between Japanese myth and this film, however, this film also gives us more interesting and important things. I recommend it and please have an interest about Japanese myth.

I read a book “Agatha Christie, Woman of Mystery”.

Many people know her, who is the great detective writer. However, she is not a detective writer at first. This book gives us new information and ideas about her.

First, she was not interested in a writer. One day, her mother said to her to write a story. She tried to write again and again, but nothing made a fruit. Her works were not detective novels but brief stories.

Second, she had two boy friends, who were Reggie Lucy and Archibald Christie. Reggie was a shy boy. He and she made friends over playing golf together. He suddenly asked her to marry him, but she denied his propose. Archibald and she met at a dance party. She finally got married to him.

Finally, when she started writing detective novels was before the World War 1. She went to work in the hospital dispensary, studied about medicines and got much knowledge. She finished writing her first novel and published it in 1920. The title is “The Mysterious Affair at Style”. After that, she went to publishing many works.

I did not know who she was in detail like that. Watching this book, I had interests more about her works. I want to read or watch them someday.

'Attyo' is one of my friends. Attyo is his nickname. The real name is secret. We have been friends for about 14 years. He is a university student at Fukuoka now.
He has his own web page “ANPAN!” What do you think does this word mean? It's not a kind of bread. This name has been used for a long time. It is a common word in our world.
When we were 5 grade students in my elementary school, I made a strange character called 'Anpanmen'. Although I gave him the name, he is not people but a man. That was a funny mistake by a little boy.
In those days, a video game which can make RPG (Role-Playing Game) was very popular among my friends. In the game, I made the character as an enemy. When I showed the character to him, he burst into laughing. Since then, I went on making the video game for about six month. The character got very popular in my classmates. It was an amazing thing for me. Then, Attyo asked me to draw this character on a book. I did OK his suggestion. The boom had continued for five to six months. It seemed to be a dream time. “ANPAN” comes from the wonderful event.
Now, the web site got an award and about a half of millions people visit there. The contents are about Pokemon and music of video games. Please come there if you have time.

Today, I’ll introduce about one of my favorite web sites. It’s “e-typing”. You can find this site to use a computer search in Google or Yahoo and practice your typing skill with many teaching materials of the site. When I have a free time, I often use them to improve my typing skill.

First, I recommend you take an easy test (Trial test) which put on the first page of the site. You can know your present capability. Of course, you can get a high score and grade if you type quickly and accurately, however, because the standard is severe, it is a little difficult for you to get a high grade at first, I think. You can take the test again and again.

Second, you can practice and improve your skill with many materials put on the right side of the first page. There are “Ranking”, “Business”, “Okuni-jiman”, “Brain training” and many categories.
“Ranking” has lots of sections, “A long sentence typing”, “English typing”, “Ten-key typing”, etc. I think “A long sentence typing” is the best material in them. It needs a patient, accuracy and techniques to type some complex words. It helps you to improve your ability.
“Business” is a material to improve your typing and teach you manners on a business. If you take it, you can kill two birds with one stone.
“Okuni-jiman” and “Brain training” are things like breathers. “Okuni-jiman” sets you questions in a dialect, “Aomori dialect”, “Nigata dialect”, “Osaka dialect”, “Kumamoto dialect”, and so on. In “Brain training”, you solve numerical calculations with ten keys.

Finally, you just repeat these lessons. Harder you try it, better your skill gets.
Computers in Kumamoto Gakuen University also have typing applications. However, why don’t you use this web site? If you have a chance, please visit there!

Watermelon
It is a famous vegetable in Kumamoto. Some people mistakes the Watermelon for a kind of fruit. Ueki is the most productive area. It is usually sold in summer, but recently, it pretend to be sold in winter. It tastes very sweet. However, sometime people become troublesome because Watermelon has much seeds inside. Thanks to a new biological technology,
we see a seedless watermelon in a department store these day.

Basashi
Basashi is meats of a horse. This is eaten in many countries, China, Mexico, Italy, etc. It is expensive and people don't buy it very much, but they sometime but it in a celebration. Basashi is resilient food. We usually eat it with soy sauce, ginger, welsh onion, and sometime. Moreover, Tategami is a fatty meat and said the delicious part of Basashi by mavens, and as Reba-sashi and Tan-sashi has no fishy smell, people who don't like something reek of blood can eat them without problems.

Kumamoto castle
Kumamoto has a very famous castle. It is Kumamoto castle. Kumamoto castle was built 400 years ago. It was built by Kiyomasa Kato. He is very famous Samurai. Kumamoto castle is very beautiful,so it is very famous and a lot of visitors come to the castle. It has special stones. It is called Musya Gaeshi. Musya means samurai, and Gaeshi means repelling, so the stones are to protect the castle. I recommend you to visit the castle. I think you can enjoy.

Mt.Aso
Mt.Aso is very famous sightseeing spot in Kumamoto. In addition, it is also one of the symbols of the Kumamoto. It has the biggest Caldera in the all of the world. The Caldera was made by the 4 big explosion about from 90000 to 300000 years ago. The tourists visits there to see it and many product sold in shops, to feel the calm atmosphere, and to dip in a hot spring. There are many spas in Aso because Mt. Aso is the big volcano.

Mitsui Greenland
Kumamoto has a very good and enjoyable amusement park. Its name is Mitui Green Land. It is in Arao city, it takes about 1 hour to go there from Kumamoto city. It has very special rides, especially I recommend to try　Nio. Nio is very fast roller coaster which max speed is over 80 km!! I have ridden it once, it was very fun but it was too thrilling!! I watched a movie today. The title is “The adventure of Sherlock Holmes”. The story is “The Red-headed League”. It is one of the famous stories that the Conan Doyle wrote.
A company employs person who has the red-hair. The work is to copy contents of a dictionary. An old person who ran a pawnshop passes the oral examination, and begins to start the work. One day, he goes to his office, and finds a paper on the wall. “The Red-headed League was dissolved.”
The old man thinks it is strange and visits to Holmes’ house. Sherlock Holmes thinks about the strange case for an hour, he goes to a library, and finds the case has something to do with a bank robbery. Then, he draws a deduction that some member of the company plots to brake in a big bank “from the ground”! His deduction is correct, and Holmes and cops arrest the criminal people.
I wondered that he thought that the criminal people broke in the bank from the ground. In the film, there was one scene that Holmes struck a ground with his stick. He checked the echo. He felt actually the echo. If there is an echo, the point under his foot is hollow. Then he thought that someone was digging under the ground. Therefore, he knew the plan of criminal people. How wonderful his deduction is!
I want to see other stories someday.

I have been ill for 5 days, so I am very tired and uncomfortable. In addition, as I have a strong cough, I can't speak well. Yesterday, I went to a doctor about the sickness. He said it was a cold or the mycoplasma pneumonia. As I did not have any advance knowledge about the disease, I took a look about it, and could find the cases. People cannot find it easily and soon because it does not cause any special things at the first time. Though the infect ability is not strong, it is a kind of virus. The doctor recommended a blood test to me, but I decided to see how things go for a while. It may be just a cold, but I must be careful about the illness. However, I also have to be careful for a while. I will go to a doctor anytime soon.

Essay 5 -The worst day in my life-

The worst day in my life was April 29, 1997. I was 9-years-old, and I went to my friend’s house.
He had a big dog that was called Benn. Benn was usually peaceful, so I liked him and used to feed him. I played with him and my friends outside. On eating sweets in his house, a brother of my friends went to him to give water. Then we heard the brother’s screaming. Benn bit his hand! His mother cured his hand in a hurry. I saw the dog, and I seemed somehow he was glad. He perhaps bit him for a joke, but the damage was serious. I was afraid and I decided to go home earlier than usual, so I went through the garden and put my hand on the handle of the gate. Then, Benn noticed me and ran toward me. I was frightened his action and I bumped my head on the wall. To make matters worse, Benn mounted me. I feared what he did next and I was worried about my safety. Thanks to the help of the friend’s mother, I could go home.
Once bit, twice shy, I did not be bitten by him, though. Since then, I do not like dogs. Just watching is OK, but I can’t touch them. The communication with dogs or other animals is a little difficult. The trauma will not heal soon. I am still afraid of dogs now.

I read “Frankenstein”. It is SF story, and the most of the people may know this story. Although I heard the title, I did not know the details of the story. Therefore, I read the book. I was surprised to hear that Frankenstein was not a name of a monster but a scientist.Frankenstein is born in a rich family and spends his life without problems. However, his mother dies when she gives birth to a baby boy. He curses at the fleetingness of life. He decides to study chemistry to find an eternal life. Many scientists blame his theory, but he continues his study with a note which a professor wrote. He gets a dead body which lost a leg and another leg from the other dead body. He attaches a leg on the dead body, and delivers an electrical shock to it. Then the dead body starts moving. His experiment is successful, but he abandons him because the creature has the ugly face, and other people deny his existence. Therefore, he vows to have vengeance on Frankenstein, and he kills Williams who is a little brother of Frankenstein, his friends, and his wife. Frankenstein also dies of extreme debility. The monster is lost in the northern land.I think this story is tragic one. The monster is the unhappiest creature in the entire world. He is abandoned by his birth parent and learns only to hate and how to kill someone. Human beings fear a something strange or unknown, therefore Frankenstein escaped from him, but the left person suffers from the loneliness. If such unknown creatures come to the earth, do you think that people can get along with them? I do not any ideas, but it may be an important thing in our future.

June 10 is my birthday. I am 20 years old now!
Yesterday, I went to Spora which is an amusement park with my circle friends. We played bowing for 3 games and I got 130 points on average. I was tired. After that, we went to a Japanese-style bar at Shimo-tori and celebrated the people who were born in June. I was very happy, and enjoyed the party with drinking and eating delicious meals.
Today, I got up at 8 a.m., ate my breakfast in a hurry, quickly finished dressing, and helped my mother and grandma to work the family business. All of my families are tired for it. As I did not hope something special, so we had a long break. We had supper at 7, and we ate Sushi at home. Although there was no special thing, I like a peaceful life. Therefore this birthday was a good day.

I read “A Midsummer night’s dream”. It is written by Shakespeare. It is a comedy play.

At the first scene, the characters are Lysander, Hermia, Helena, and Demestrius. Lysander and Demestrius like Hermia, but she likes Lysander. Helena likes Demestrius, but he doesn’t like her. Egeus who is Hermia’s father forces her to marry with him. Of course, she does not want to follow that idea. Then she runs away with her real lover, Lysander.

At the second scene, the runaway lovers are in a forest. On the other hand, Puck who is a fairy and Oberon who is the king of the fairies are also in the forest. Oberon quarreled with his wife, Titania, so he is bad-humored. Then, he lets Puck to fetch a flower to make a magic pill which is similar to an aphrodisiac. The person who takes it, he/she falls in love to the other person that he/she watches at the first time. As the result of it, Lysander and Demestrius begin to like Helena. However, Helena is confused by the situation. What is worse, the confusion involves other people. Finally, Oberon let Pack lift the curses, and each couple re-realizes the love each other. Lysander loves Hermia and Demestrius loves Helena. The couple of fairies are reconciled.

After that, a great party for a wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta is held, and each couple’s happiness is celebrated.

Although I have read Shakespeare’s works once or twice, I had thought that his works were tragedies. In this experience, I found that his works were not only tragedies but also comedies and historical play. This work is comedy one, and the atmosphere of the world is very different from the other works. The proof is an appearance of fairies. The other works that he wrote do not appear such fantastic characters. He had various talents, I think. If you read this book, you would change your view for him.

I did a volunteer work today. I went to Shoubu-no-Sato.
This is a customary festival, and some circle of Kumagaku also joins this festival. Of course, I have joined this twice at this time. In the first joining, I was in charge of selling curry and rice. In this year, I took charge of selling products made by the people who living in a facility.
The working time is eleven to eleven-thirty and twelve-five to three. As a staff gave me two coupons of curry and rice and drink, I ate them well. There are many refreshment booths, for instance, fried chickens, wieners, souvenirs, flea market, and so on. I bought some cookies for my family. It looks so delicious. Unfortunately, however, I did not take any pictures. In the afternoon, after I returned my business from my rest time, I was in charge of cash register. Having experienced it hardly, I could not find soon what I should do. With advice from other assistants, I accustomed myself to clear an account.
Finally, we danced “Banzai dance”. It is also the customary dance. It connotes the big success and the prosperity. I had a wonderful time. I want to go there again in next year.

A memorable day in my life is when I was 3rd grade in my junior high school. There was a big event.It was English recitation contest. It held in October twenty-sixth, 2002. An English teacher chose three or four people to entry this contest. I had joined it twice. Therefore, it was the third time if I joined. I hesitated about the joining　because I had a high school examination in this year, I was very busy to study many subjects. However, a friend of mine who also joined this contest twice said to me that we should participate in it to proud of our activity. Then I decided to join it. Finally, the representatives are only 2, me and my friend. The limited time was 5 minutes. We practiced again and again. The day, October twenty-sixth, finally came. There were about 8 groups from other towns or cities. I was a little nervous, but I had a confidence to beat them. I believed myself till the end of the presentation. As the result, we got second price. We were very happy. After that, we presented our recitation at a school festival in fall. Then I had never stood on the stage in such a situation. Thanks to the contest, I could have such wonderful times. Therefore, the day is my memorable day.

I read “The Railway Children”. The genre is Human Interest.

There is a family in London. One day, however, the father is taken by two men for an affair and the rest of family has to leave in London. They go to a country, in a little house near a railway line. A poor life begins then.
There are 3 children in the family, Roberta, Peter, and Phyllis. Peter goes to a station and takes some coal for their life, but a station porter captures him. Peter is admonished by him, but he gradually befriends him.
The children often go to a fence looked the railway line from there to see a train. When they wave their hands for the train’s passenger, an old gentleman waves back to them. Afterward, He helps the children when they call for help.
On watching the rail by the fence one day, other fence breaks and rocks fall over at it. They make red flags to stop a train and save from a terrible accident. After that, Roberta finds newspapers and the article surprises her. It says “A man captured for a spy.” She thinks he is her father.
On other day, they save a man in a red shirt who is in trouble in the tunnel. They become well-known. In addition, they meet again the old gentleman. Roberta asks him about the news.
As the time passed, Roberta has a strange feeling in her heart. She thinks something is going to happen. When she goes to the station alone, the three people get off the train. The first and second passengers are woman, but the third passenger is her father! He is not spy, and someone is a real spy. Therefore he comes to see his family. So this story ends happily.

I thought that the children were so brave and kind. Although the family became poor by the father’s problem, the hearts of gold were still inside them. Other people around the family, the station porter and the old gentleman, are also kind for them. Human beings can’t be alive alone. They sometime need other’s help. The result is the story’s happy ending and the good relationships between the family and friends. I learned the importance to help each other through this book.

Last Saturday, I attended a party of my circle for freshmen in the college. It started at six forty at “Nihon-Kaisyouen”. The members of present people are over 50. Therefore, it was the large party. The newcomers were very polite and good members. They made a round of courtesy calls. Some of them were a little nervous, however, I thought they gradually got calm as the time passed. I also had a wonderful time over talking with friends, and OB. Finishing the first party, we went to the next Japanese bar. It was “Yumeya”. Having been there twice, I was very relaxed at that time. As I can not drink any alcohol, I hope to drink one bit by bit. I don't still understand a good taste of a beer. After finished the party, I was glad to hear that the freshmen had a wonderful time. I expect them to do good activities from now on.

My favorite animal is rabbit. The reason is very simple. I like rabbit very much. My animal symbol is also rabbit. About my house, I sometimes used to see it standing or running in my field when I was a child. However, I cannot see it at all because of a noise changing the environment, and many problems.
Rabbit has a pairs of long ears, strong legs. By the way, the leg of rabbit is a charm of luck in Europe and the U.S. It is the no-no to seize hold of the ears. They are very delicate. In addition, Rabbit is turf-conscious, and so it is desirable to have only one rabbit.
There are many superstitions. These are “Rabbit will die if it drinks water.”, “Rabbit does not sing”, and “Rabbit will die if it is alone.” The First is not true as rabbit takes water from vegetables and foods. However, it needs enough water at the childbearing. If you do not give it enough water then, it may sometimes eat and kill its baby. That’s terrible.
Speaking of rabbit, Peter Rabbit is a famous character. It has been loved for over one hundred year. The illustrations are very pretty and used as post card and calendar.
Although rabbit has good habits and bad habits, I like such rabbit very much.

I played "Typer Shark" in the Writing class as a training tool.

The sharks wearing words on their body are moving for the diver(the player). I must type to beat them as fast as I can. Blue shark is beaten with typing one word, but Black shark is beaten with 2 words, and Red shark is beaten with 3 word! It is hard for me to beat all of them.

My research theme for KGKS

I will survey about the differences of buildings and their circumstance, house and store, between Japan and England.

The purpose of my theme is to know the differences of the people’s life style through the differences. It is buildings that show them. In my opinion, these buildings are built differently in each country due to the differences of climate. In addition, building is one of the most important parts that explain the country’s history.

Japan has 4 clear seasons, and the max temperature is about 27~33 degrees in summer. The max temperature of England, however, is about 19~24 degrees. It’s too different!! But Japanese house has thermal materials and keeps humidity stable, thus Japanese can live comfortable in summer and winter. On the other hand, English house is built of brick. Brick house has heat hardiness, heat-retaining property, water resistance, and many good functions. Then, I think it is the structural difference that makes the people comfortable. Therefore, I have an eye on the difference of house.

For the reason, I want to survey about the differences of buildings, house, between Japan and England. I think it would give me an idea of the cross-cultural characteristic.

Hello, My name is Minatuki. I'm 19-years-old now. I am a student at Kumamoto Gakuen University. My hobbies are reading books, watching TV or Movies, playing sports, and listening to Music. In reading, I like to read "Light novels". It is novels that are easy for everyone to read. I have over 50 light novels, and have finished almost all of them. The favorite works are "Kino's travel", "Out of the door", and "Death God's ballad".
In watching TV, I recommend "Salary man NEO". It's the comedy program. My father likes it very much. Of course, I do. It hits screen on every Tuesday at eleven to eleven thirty P.M. Please watch it!

Japan has lots of culture. Many people without distinction love almost all of them.

One of the most famous cultural places is Kyoto. Kyoto has Japanese traditional culture and historic architecture like Kinkakuji, Kiyomizudera, and many places. Many sightseers go through this culture and are fascinated with their attractions. Some of them have the knowledge about Japanese ancient culture than that of Japanese. Kyoto has great attractions for everyone.

Other popular culture is Japanese animations and cartoons. Pokemon and Ghibli series, Mononoke-hime and Tonarino-Totoro, for example, are loved by most of the people. Dragon Ball also is very popular among boys in U.S.A. and Australia and many other counties. Many Japanese animations are televised in Europe, America, and Australia.

At last, Japanese foods are popular in many counties as a health food. They are introduced in the health TV program. But some of them have peculiar taste, so foreigners can’t eat them. Natto and green juice are the typical examples. In contrast to them, sushi is a common food in Europe and U.S.A. In France and America, the shapes and taste of sushi are different from the Japanese. I have ever heard that a chef at a restaurant put chocolate sauce on it. That’s amazing!

Japanese culture is very popular and changed those shapes or contains by many people’s hands or devices. Japanese culture has been existed as the international ones all over the world.

Hello. I’m Minatuki. I’m a student at Kumamoto Gakuen University. I’m very happy that I visit you for a home stay. I’m 20 years old in next my birthday. I belong to a volunteer circle. It’s Asunarou. “Asu” means “tomorrow”, and “narou” means “will become”. So Asunarou means “We will become --- tomorrow”. --- may be a big tree. There are 6 people in my family. It’s my parents, my grandparents, younger brother, and me. My hobbies are reading books, watching TV program and movie, playing sports, and listening to music. Are you interested in Manga, Japanese POP, and Japanese movie? If you want to know about that, I’ll tell you. My major is English. My current purposes are to advance my English skill, and to know a lot of cultures in your country. My future dream is to be an English teacher, so I would like to learn your country’s culture to teach students. As I have never been to foreign country, I feel nervous. Today was my little brother’s birthday. And so, I went to “Sinsen Itiba” to eat Sushi with my younger brother and father. There are many families. We waited for 30 minutes by any seats was empty. I like salmon very much. I did not eat any fish except salmon!! It’s just joke. But I ate lots of Sushi, true sardine, shrimp, and conger. Many people say that tuna is very delicious, but I do not think so because I hate tuna. After all, my younger brother ate 11 plates(Left), my father did 10 plates(Right), and I did 9 plates(Center). After that, I went to book store and game arcade. I enjoyed myself playing many things.

I did a volunteer work today. I woke up at five fifteen a.m. and left my house at five forty-five. I took the first train with my friend and arrived at school at seven. There are about twenty people joined this work. We went to Park Doom by a courtesy bus. “Kagayaki Taikai” was held there, and over 15 groups took part in this athletic meeting for the disabled. We helped the members and sometime got in some competitive athletics with the member. I was very tired, but I had the great time. I want to join it again next year!!

I read “Robinson Crusoe”. The genre is adventure. The reason why I want to read this book is that this work is famous all over the world and I did not know the story exactly.

Robinson is born in York in England. He wants adventure and an exciting life. Then he says that he wants to be a sailor and go to sea, but his parents do not agree to his suggestion. However, one day a friend of him invites him a voyage. He is pleased at that time, but he goes through the terrible voyage because of a strong wind and many dangerous events. As the months passed, he goes to sea again with his friends in 1659. However, it is the most dangerous voyage. The terrible storm is around his ship, and they are all fallen in the water. Robinson wake up and finds that he is alone in a desert island. Then he decides to live in the island until a ship comes about. He makes his house, bag, clothes, and many things which are useful in his life. One day, He watches lights at the sea shore. There are wild men and they are singing and shouting over eating or drinking. He is afraid of their behaviors. Then, he finds human bones in their pan and a man sitting near a tree. He helps him and calls “Man Friday”. Their new life begins and ends in 1686. A great ship is near the island. The seamen take the captain of the ship. The seamen are mutineers! They make him sit down under the tree and prepare killing and eating him. As soon as Robinson and Friday helped him, they prepare fighting against them. Robinson’s team could beat them. The captain takes Robinson and Friday to York. He comes back to his home town and marries. He goes to sea again, and has many more adventures.

After finish reading this work, I thought that Robinson was tough man. He had lived in the desert island for twenty-seven years. It was very tiring and boring for me. If somebody drifted there and found he/she was alone, he/she would become mad or suicide. However, Robinson never lost his wish. In addition, he made many essential goods and made his living. In the result, he could come back to England again. I think it is very important for us to have fortitude and sliver of life.

I ate a Hayashi-rice in the cafeteria at Kumamoto Gakuen University a long ago. The name is Asomori Hayashi. I ordered the large portion of one. Look at the left picture. I put the big monster on left side, and my pass case on right side. The length is twice as large as the pass case is. It comes near about 3 servings of the normal size!!! We call it Morimori Hayashi!! It took about 20~30 minutes to finish eating. After doing, I suffered from terrible stomach ache and head ache. You should be careful not to eat too much.

Today is Mother's Day. As my mother said that she wanted time to have a break, my family did not do anything special. But, my mother had to go shopping with my grand father in the morning because my father is a little waywardness. I spent watching TV, reading books, and playing video games. Because of many assignments, I was terribly tired. (I had finished almost all of them.) Therefore, I could have a peaceful time. In the evening, my family went to Arao and ate ramen. After that, we went to Passca World (Game Arcade). My mother got a Jackpot and her coin box was full of coins!! It was the present from the angles to her, I thought.

I read the book, “Who, sir? Me, sir?” It’s a vernal story. Sam Sylvester who is a teacher at Hawkwood School wants his class have ambition, and to do wonderful thing in life. Then he decides to enter tetrathlon sports competition and beat Greycoats School’s students. The athletic events are swimming, shooting, and riding.
Mr. Sylvester chooses the team member in his class. They are Hoomey, Jazz, Bean, and Gary. But, some of them are not good at doing swimming or riding or shooting. Then the teacher and other instructors help them.
The sports competition finally starts. The judges of Hawkwood in swimming and shooting are inferior to that of Greycoats, but Greycoats students cheated at the tournaments. In addition, Hawkwood students also cheated at the final tournament, riding. Finally, there are no winners and losers. The showdown will be decided next year.
When I have finished this book, I was impressed the passion of the students. If someone jest you, most of them get angry and want to argue the person into silence. Then I will make an effort to complete it. I think that the younger people are, the more sense of rivalry they have. This work is expressive of the emotion and behavior well. But I think that cheating is unfair. The fighting or competition should be fair.

I helped my family’s business to make 140 rice seed beds with a machine. I put rice seeds in them, and covered them with earth. It was difficult to regulate the amount of rice seeds to put in a seed bed. As a result of trial and error, I managed to finish this job in the morning.

By the way, a weather forecast said that it was rainy in the evening. After finishing the job, I looked at the sky. What a fine it was! The latest weather forecast is vagabond.

I read Justice. It’s a thought-provoking book.
Suddenly, terrorists blow up the Queen’s coach outside Parliament. It did not succeed, but five people are killed. Jane’s father lost his leg. And Jane is kidnapped by the terrorists. Then, as one of them, Anne, has something to do with Jane’s father, they plot how to escape successfully for their country by using her father. At last, however, the Jane’s action makes their plot fail. Then, she and her father meet again.
The most impressive thing is that Jane was killed the terrorists on quelling their plot. Murder is guilty, but she must have done it, or she might have been killed by the terrorists. Human beings have the right to be alive. If someone will try to oust the right, what should you do? Jane was killed the terrorists, but I think she had a sense of sin. If I were to be in the same situation, I will try to do my best to forgive my sin.
What is the “Justice”? This book tells us that.

I had a Survival English Conversation class. The teacher is Mr. Morrow.
The beginning of the class, everyone chatted each other about the Golden week holiday. I also talked about that. I helped my family business on last Saturday. Our family made 140 rice seed beds in the morning. I put soils in all of them equally in the time. Making these is the first step to make rice. That was very tight job. When I told this event to Mr. Morrow, he was very surprised.

I studied about an arrangement in the class.

A person asks the other about an arrangement.

A: “Hi, Mr. B. I’d like to discuss the important contract.”
B: “Yes, of course. When can you come and see me?”
A: “Is four o’clock on Monday OK?”
B: “Four o’clock on Monday... No, I’m sorry. I’m visiting my uncle’s house.”
A: “Well, could I come at twelve o’clock on Sunday.”
B: “Yes, that’ll be fine. I’ll see you then.”

Such conversation is useful to make an arrangement on business, holiday, meeting and so on.

After listening to the teacher’s advice, I practiced this conversation with my friends. As I sometime could not say the next word smoothly, I’ll practice more and more.

I played with an old friend of mine. He and I have been friends for about 12 years. He is a university student and lives in Fukuoka alone. Yesterday, he came to see me at 16:00. Then, we had promised to play together. So, we went to a game arcade in Arao city. As both of us can play “DrumMania” and “GuitarFreaks”, I played the drums he played the guitar. In addition, we played a quiz game, “Quiz Magic Academy Ⅳ”, with him. The players battle with others on the online. There are about 8 classes in the game and I was in the third class from the top. The opponents were so wise that I almost lost. Finally, I got second in the tournament. I recommend it when you play with your friends, but it costs one hundred yen at one time. We had a great time. I want to play with him again!!

Do you eat rice to the last piece? Rice cropping is very hard work for people who haven’t done in many times. Our family made rice seed beds. The amounts of them were 140!! We put soil in the box equally. Today’s work was that all, but it took about 90 minutes to finish making. After that, I ate a lunch and went to a field to burn withered weeds. It took about 70 minutes. I was very tired, so I could not eat dinner well because of the terrible exhaustion. After having taken a bath, I went to bet at once. That was a tough day.

The Golden Week has started. Some people can have happy holidays by May 6. Do you have any plans for this big vacation?
In my case, I have jobs to help my family’s business. It’s to make rice seed bets. On April 29, I have to make them. On May 5, I have to sow seeds on the bed. So I may be not able to have enough time to do something fun. But, this family business is important thing for my family to make a living. I’ll do my best to help it.

This is my favorite novel. The name is “Kino-no-Tabi” in Japanese, and “Kino’s travel” in English. The author is Keiiti Shigusawa. Although this is a kind of novel, I called such novel “Light Novel”. It’s easier to read than ordinary one.
The reason why I love it is the content.
If there is a country which all the people can know other’s minds...
If there is a country which all the people always tell a lie for a foreigner...
If there is a country which the people always decide a thing by majority rule...
Of course, these countries don’t exist on the earth. But if they do, what does it happen? The main character, Kino, experiences the happening and we readers are surprised and impressed by the result.

I read “The Piano”.
This is a story of “Human Interest”. The main character is Tony. He is interested in the piano. But He is poor, and one day, her mother takes him to a farm and he works at there. Then, he meets the old piano in an old building. He carries it to a school classroom and practices and practices. Thanks to helps of his friends and teachers, he gets a first price at a big contest and gets happy.
In my opinion, it’s just a simple story.
That’s all. It is easy to read, but not entirely satisfactory.

I had a survival conversation class at 6 p.m. I learned about simple greetings and responses to talk to someone who meet the first time, and American money.
“Breaking the ice” is an important part to get an atmosphere calm and make friendly each other on talking with.
“How are you?” ---”I’m fine, thank you. And you?”
”Please call me ____” ---”O.K. ____.”, and so on.

American money has 4 types of coins, and 6 types of bills.
Coins: a cent---about 1 yen, a nickel---about 5 yen, a dine---about 10 yen, a quarter---about 25 yen.
Bills: 1$, 5$, 10$, 20$, 50$, 100$.

I think the kinds of the amount of American money are similar to the Japanese.

I read “SHERLOCK HOLMES –SHORT STORIES-”.
He is made by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is the most famous detective of them all, I think. I like his looks, behavior, and acute deductive powers very much. I had read his story when I was a student at an elementary school. But my favorite character is John Watson. He is the partner of Holmes. The reason why I like him is that he is like me. Generally, reader thinks the trick of the case or the motive of the murder. He does the same things as reader does. So they can read as if they were him. After all, we surprise Holmes’ quick deductive power. Perhaps, reader may solve the case earlier than him. In my case, being a tiny detective, I can’t beat him.
In the first episode, “The speckled band”, one of the keys to solve the case is that a poison of the snake does not detect easily in a dead body. Not having such knowledge, I could not notice the trick, but I knew the strange phenomenon.
As above, this work tells us a strange phenomenon and an unexpected thing.
I think it’s the big attraction of this.
